As a Senior Accountant, you will assist with leading daily accounting operations, including preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties. To be successful in this role, you must be a self-starter that can identify and successfully implement process improvements. 

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Sr Accounting Manager in overseeing all accounting operations including A/P, A/R, T&E, payroll, taxes, and reporting.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules (payroll, cash, accruals, fixed assets, allocations). Responsible for maintaining internal controls and integrity of all balance sheet accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation and reconciliation processes
  • Perform financial statement reviews and balance sheet account reconciliations, maintain financial statement integrity
  • Provide testing, validation, and feedback to support business migration to a new ERP 
  • Lead and participate in projects to optimize or improve current business processes
  • Work with internal/external auditors and provide audit support
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents for accounting policies and regulations
  • Support management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned

 

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

Experience

  • 4+ years of work experience demonstrating progressive responsibility and knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Experience with general accounting functions (i.e. general ledger, month-end close, intercompany transactions, account reconciliations, account analysis).
  • Experience with financial closes, including review, account reconciliation and preparation of flux analysis, P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
  • Proactive and independent: must be eager to drive best practices, initiatives, and continuous process improvement while always curious and learning.
  • Experience with relevant cloud-based software on small and medium enterprises (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks). 
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Versatile, flexible, and eager to work with constantly changing priorities.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel – spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation, etc.
  • Must be an outstanding communicator and have established skills in accuracy and organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to support all other departments within the company through excellent customer service.
