Our client is seeking a Director of Accounting to join their growing, top tier organization. The Director of Accounting will oversee all aspects of company’s accounting function. This position will be responsible for managing and mentoring staff, managing the monthly close process, identifying and leading process improvement initiatives and providing valuable deep dive analytics on project, costing and margin analysis. This individual will be expected to have strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and remain current on the changing technical accounting guidance to ensure the company properly adheres to current accounting standards.
Overseeing the month-end close process and ensuring accurate and meaningful financial reporting is provided to executive management on a timely basis.
Oversee other accounting activities including but not limited to: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, managing banking relationships and other local vendor relationships.
Lead in the development and coordination of a best-in-class financial accounting organization that will support the company's long-term growth strategy
Performance and oversight of job cost analysis including preparing work in process schedules.
Preparing monthly internal financial statements, budgets, forecasts and analyzing and communicating cash funding needs.
Responsible for oversight of expenditures including reviewing, tracking and reporting detailed expenses on a monthly basis.
Work closely with the company's external audit firm by supporting the annual audits and interim reviews
Support the design and implementation of effective internal controls over financial reporting
Communicate with clients, vendors, and external parties to ensure financial information is provided and received is accurate
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree required with a minimum of 6-7 years of experience in Accounting / Finance
Extensive knowledge of US GAAP accounting
Ability to execute and produce complete, accurate and timely deliverables
Ability to operate effectively in a challenging, fast-paced environment
Individual should be a strong self-starter and detail oriented
