Our client is a successful tech company in the heart of Orange County, and they are in need of a skilled Staff Accountant to join their growing team. One of the primary responsibilities of the role pertains to cost variance and inventory reconciliation. This accountant will serve in the Original Equipment Manufacturing department.
Prepare and post all daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries to the GL in accordance with GAAP.
Perform cost variance analysis and inventory reconciliation.
Provide assistance in reconciling bank accounts and prepare and post month-end closing entries.
Analyze, code and process all incoming documentation in adherence to company’s expense reimbursement policies and procedures.
Produce weekly and monthly travel and entertainment budget to actual reports to ensure that the sales organization is operating within established budgets.
Communicate with the sales organization as well as other associates to resolve missing information/ documentation from expense reimbursements or vendor payment requests in a timely manner.
Perform monthly reconciliations of various bank and general ledger account analysis, as needed, to resolve discrepancies and prepare and post month-end journal entries.
Develop and update various schedules for commission tracking, fixed assets, liabilities, sponsorships, etc. including daily, weekly & monthly journal entries.
Prepare and run weekly check run to pay vendors. Develop and maintain wholesaler and vendor paper files.
Special projects as assigned, and overtime as required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
4-5 years professional accounting experience
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accounting/ERP systems
Thourough understanding of GAAP
Prior accounting experience with Cost Variance Analysis and Inventory Reconciliation
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Willingness to develop industry related knowledge
Able to effectively communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in written form
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently with general direction
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Word and Excel
